In addition this, I'd highly recommend for people to try GitExtensions; I use both tools together.
It might not look as slick as some other Git clients, but it's free; powerful; and can help with learning git commands.

Version 4 migrated to .NET 6 which unfortunately broke the theming. If dark mode is important, you can always get Version 3 from the release history
