Calling the ATS score an estimate up front is the honest version. Of the three checks, keyword match, missing skills, or formatting traps, which one do people fix first after they see the score?
Thanks Praneet! It's still early, so I don't have enough users for a clean pattern yet. My bet is keyword match, because it's the most obvious to act on: you see the missing word, you add it. The irony is that formatting traps usually matter more, since a two-column layout can scramble the whole parse, but they feel less urgent than a missing keyword. Going to watch which one people actually fix first and maybe write it up once I have real numbers.
the two-column point is a good one, it breaks the parse quietly and the person never knows why their score is low. maybe lead with the formatting trap whenever one is found, since it matters more. would you test reordering the checks, or keep keyword first because people act on it fastest?
That's a smart way to frame it. A middle ground I like: if a formatting trap is found, show it first since it can make every other check meaningless. If there isn't one, lead with keywords because that's the quickest win. Worth testing both orders once there's enough traffic to compare. Thanks for pushing on this!
