Currently going through a bit of a burnout myself. Covid years I lost my team, was doing the same amount of work the 4 of us were doing. Burned out, left the job for my sanity but didn't leave a gap to get back to equilibrium, nor enact proper self care. Now I find myself in a job I despise because of the company's burnout culture. Reading this did speak to me however - I know my current employer isn't great, but I do also have to take action of my own to solve the burnout. Mental health break is definitely an option too - I'll have to give that some thought as it might be the best way to get myself back into good working order, or at least not doing it might harm my chances of doing that.
