Really great. I'm more of a UI designer, not an artist, but have been digging into Josh Comeau's terrific CSS course lately, which led me to go through this and try to duplicate before I looked at your code. This was really fun, thanks for the writeup and letting us in to your process!

Super fun tutorial, and I added a few tweaks - made a top hat instead of the heart, and used variables to be able to change color.

Also, for the legs, since you're using flexbox, you can set the width to 100% instead of having to calculate body/number of legs.
