Search is changing rapidly. People are no longer relying only on traditional search engines like Google; they are also using AI-powered tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity to discover information, compare products, and find solutions.
This makes me wonder: Is our website actually prepared to appear in AI-generated answers?
Here are a few things I would check:
Make sure your website answers users' questions directly. Use meaningful headings, short paragraphs, FAQs, and relevant examples so information is easy to understand.
Organize your pages with proper headings, descriptive URLs, internal links, and clear navigation. This helps search engines understand how your content is connected.
Use suitable schema markup, such as Organization, Article, Product, or LocalBusiness, where appropriate. Structured data can help search engines understand your website's content.
Make sure important pages can be crawled and indexed. Check your robots.txt file, XML sitemap, mobile experience, loading speed, and any accidental noindex tags.
Publish original information, demonstrate your experience, cite reliable sources, and earn relevant mentions and backlinks from trustworthy websites.
Search for questions related to your industry using AI-powered search tools. Check whether your website appears as a cited source or whether competitors are being mentioned instead.
One important thing I've learned is that there is no guaranteed checklist or special AI ranking trick that makes a website appear in every AI assistant. Strong technical SEO, useful content, and credibility remain important foundations.
