I've managed to get a few quality backlinks and traffic using this HARO approach. With this my organic traffic grew quite a bit too. Maybe something to explore?
yeah, I've been doing it for a while and got quite good results. There is link to a Google Sheet in the article - it's good to track the progress. Otherwise you might get demotivated and stop. Sometimes submissions are published 3+ months after. For the first two months I had almost no effect - so it's definitely not a thing you just do once and it's done.
