I dumped Chrome about a year ago for a combination of these two browsers. Brave allows for ad free and more private searching and Edge is a lot more memory friendly and has the Collections feature built in. I keep all my to read articles in there.
Generally, I use Brave as my default browser for surfing the web and I keep Edge as the browser for all chat apps (such as gmail, whatsapp web and slack).
If you want to see how different the browsers are, open the Task Manager (or Mac equivalent) and check how much CPU and memory each browser consumes. Load the same plugins and pages for best comparison.
