Its a submission for a hackathon. I totally understand you don't wanna use this thats okay.
The idea is to build something for the web.
Implementation and Execution matters.
The point is to learn enough and have experience to build real products. That can one day make a difference.

I haven't seen such a rubbish comment anywhere. This is a Hackathon and people submit what they love to build. It takes a hell of a lot of effort to build even a tiny working application.
