Benjamin N. Spak More powerful than backlink is the meta canonical tag. It looks like this in the source code:
<link rel="canonical" href="blog.benjaminspak.com/j-5-28-2019-cjw7ytrru009mm0…"/>
If you do this, there's no need to manually add a backlink. It helps Google differentiate between original copy and syndicated copy.
Devto supports canonical. It's present in the editor somewhere.
HackerNoon & FCC are Medium publications. If you import a post through Medium's importer, it sets canonical tag automatically.
I hope this was helpful. :)

Just make sure to set the canonical tag straight when you republish your posts elsewhere, otherwise, Google may think that you stole the content from those platforms.
I've seen cases where people stole content from other platforms, and then published it elsewhere under their name, and that content ranked better than the original one. Not fair, but Google trusts websites with higher domain authority more.
