The idea of testing long-context AI through pattern learning and state tracking is really interesting. It’s easy to assume that a model will remember everything just because a large context window is available, but actually maintaining the right state over a long interaction is a different challenge.
I particularly liked the focus on testing this behavior rather than simply trusting the model’s claims about what it remembers. These kinds of experiments can reveal where long-context systems are genuinely useful and where their limitations still show up. A good reminder that context length and reliable context handling aren’t necessarily the same thing.
