If you choose to come again despite the airport nightmares, make sure to ask your hosts for a departure letter.

Many Israelis are unaware of this. We used to host many guests and these letters make a vast difference. You just give it at the airport and it will make travel much faster. Flying in is also a hassle, but surprisingly less so than the departure.

I had an invitation letter. It didn't make much difference... But I hope I'll come again to your country, despite the "airport nightmare", I had a lovely time.

Eleftheria Batsou Departure letter is different. Invitation letters are standard in many countries but you need a different letter to leave.

Most Israelis don't know about this since we leave relatively easily with a local passport.
