When you pray for the rain, you gotta prepare for the mud – Denzel Washington If you want to read about the ordeals of a self-taught developer in Nigeria, then you gotta be prepared for a long read. But I will try my best to keep this as short as po...

We Go Hard Bro. we don't relent , we don't cower. we don't quit.. we Endure and Conquer ❤️ The Nigerian Mentality.
Thanks for sharing. I relate to this, though I'm not in Nigeria. These problems are continental(Africa) 🤦♀️
Thanks for sharing this, I can relate to this 110%.
Publishing of articles regularly on my blog has really reduced due to bad electricity, and productivity is even out of hands.
All we can continue doing is staying strong, remain motivated, and not waiting for someone else to fully determine how our future will look like by taking up every slight opportunity we have.
we really can't help it but we won't give up.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and experiences! This was a great read. I am so impressed by everyone I meet from Nigeria who endures these struggles.
Your article practically narrated my current situation.....
Nice... I'm also in a similar situation concerning computers but electricity isn't an issue and I have access to uncapped wifi so that's good but i can't even use them properly because of computer issue
I can relate a 100% to that. I got my current laptop as a gift from generous individuals on tech twitter. Electricity has been a major issue for me. Most times, I have to go to places with solar system to charge my gadgets so I can meet up with tasks. Thankfully, I just got my first job. Already saving up some money to get a solar system. It ain't easy but we are gonna pull through 💛💛
Thank you for this article. I'm a Nigerian to and I understand everything. I'm currently in a place that has reasonable light but I don't have a working laptop. I had decided that this year would be different for me but it's actually worse. I hate staying idle but there is nothing I can do. I pray it gets better.
I didn't know about the situation in Nigeria. I had heard stories of people not having a laptop and borrowing laptops from the "rich people" only for a few hours a day (maybe 30-60', if they were lucky).
I just recently learned the problems with PayPal and other similar payment methods. I thought these companies are global and they have sorted out these things.
About the unemployment, I don't have anything to comment on. It's just terrible. Knowledge is knowledge. It doesn't matter if you have a udemy certification, a university degree, or nothing at all. No one can deny that you know stuff, you know how to code, you have build projects and so on.
P.S.1 I upvoted your article as much as I could so more people can see it :)
P.S.2 Stay strong.
