I love this perspective. I started in tech in 2001/2002 and things were really good for years. Around 2008/09 things were not so good. I literally felt worthless because so many people had the same skills as me, and they were all looking for jobs. I could have given up, which was reasonable at the time.
My choice was to control what I was able to control. I could make myself better, even if nobody noticed. I could build my "edge" while others chose to give up or make excuses. It was all I could do. I worked tirelessly to build my skills.
It turned out well for me eventually, and it will for you too. Don't give up.
Triiiina, this could not be any more true! The strong will survive and this is the perfect time to get strong!
Just the motivation I needed for today (and the foreseeable future). Thanks for sharing!
This is an amazing perspective on the layoff situation Katrina! I too will focus on perfecting my craft! ☺️
