I agree with this. When I first started learning web development, I was tempted to jump straight into frameworks because that's what everyone seemed to be talking about. But spending time with plain HTML and CSS made everything much easier to understand later. Even now, whenever something doesn't look right, it's usually my HTML structure or CSS that's causing the issue. Strong fundamentals really do save a lot of time in the long run.
