In our accelerator program, we've observed that the decision between lightweight agent libraries and heavyweight orchestration frameworks often hinges on the specific needs and maturity of the enterprise. Here's a framework we use to guide teams through this choice: 1. Scope and Scale: For projects requiring quick prototypes or proof-of-concepts, lightweight libraries like Langchain or Haystack offer simplicity and speed. They allow teams to iterate rapidly without getting bogged down by complex setups. On the other hand, if you're dealing with large-scale deployments involving multiple AI services, orchestration frameworks like Airflow or Kubeflow provide the necessary robustness and manageability. 2. Integration Needs: We advise teams to assess how the AI component fits into the broader system architecture. Lightweight libraries often excel when AI tasks need to integrate seamlessly into existing microservices without demanding significant architectural changes. In contrast, orchestration frameworks are better suited for scenarios where AI processes are central to the workflow and require coordination across various data sources and outputs. 3. Resource Availability: Consider the expertise and resources at your disposal. Lightweight libraries demand less from your infrastructure and development team, which can be crucial for teams with limited AI experience. Conversely, orchestration frameworks, while powerful, need more investment in terms of setup, maintenance, and expertise. In our latest cohort, we've seen that teams who spend time upfront evaluating these factors tend to succeed more with AI adoption. They avoid the common pitfall of over-engin
