Great breakdown, Sam. Listing what’s included (migration, malware removal, daily backups, CDN) next to the real trade-offs makes it easy to see where WPX fits. Your point that premium hosting isn’t always needed for a first blog is a useful one for beginners.
The managed hosting category is wider than one provider, so I’d add a few comparison points. Managed hosting is worth it when the time you’d spend on updates, security patches, backups and troubleshooting costs more than the price gap. WPX is strong there.
Other options include Hostinger and Cloudways. Hostinger is a good budget entry point, and Cloudways sits in the middle, with managed cloud servers and more flexibility over resources and scaling. Both providers also offer AI-driven insights that can help site owners. These can include performance recommendations, resource monitoring and smarter troubleshooting. That helps people spot slow plugins, traffic spikes or storage creep before they turn into downtime, which fits your point about outgrowing storage limits. One more feature include managed AI agents.
So my rule of thumb would be: pay for premium support if hands-on help is what you need, and consider a budget or flexible managed option if you want lower cost or room to scale. Either way, check which monitoring and AI insight tools are included, because they can save a lot of guesswork as a site grows.
