A useful addition to the release-cooldown item: make sure the cooldown has an explicit bypass path for genuine security fixes, otherwise it can delay a patched version by the same window you are trying to wait out for malicious ones. One pattern is to let the update bot apply the cooldown to routine bumps but let advisory-driven (audit-flagged) updates through for human review. Also, since install scripts are disabled by default, it may be worth a note on the few packages that legitimately need them (native builds) and keeping those on an explicit allowlist. How do you suggest reviewing lockfile diffs in practice when a PR changes hundreds of transitive entries?
