Hi I'm Thomas Gawehns. I joined because the react framework looks like the thing to go for my next project. They said there is a community at hashnode. I quit my current job and I'll go freelancing (and/or) building a business on my own. The freelancing is to make the $s for the real thing. It'll be about maintaining legacy software written in C/C++ by already retired veterans. I'm not yet sure if that works out, but that sounds reasonable. My own thing will be centered around google app engine. For me this looks like the easiest way to start. There is no cost, just coding. If it works out you can scale and/or sell. Frontend I thought to use jquery but react looks quite cool and you have the native thing. Why not give it a try. The first app will be about helping retailers in germany to reach gen-x video-addicted customers. That's the idea of my sort-of-partners. I don't know if to trust them, but I agreed to build a first system on the google framework. Anyway that's a first step. Besides all that I'ld love to be an author/blogger. My travel blog gets not that many readers but I love to create a story once in a while. Anyway I have to use the photos made while travelling. My first book already got sold one time. I was so happy about the 1.80€ I received from Amazon. Now it has hit the breakpoint ... I'll be back after lunch :-)

At university it was a Mainframe thing. My real first Computer was Unix System III with a VT-100 terminal.
