I would learn how to develop an API, you can't say its just a skill, you need to learn all the bits around it, like making sure an endpoint is private, making sure it's secure, making sure it doesn't bottleneck your app and crash your server etc. With this you can also add authentication, be it via social etc. File uploading on an API? CRUD? etc

Thanks. I'm struggling to build much of it myself, I feel its bigger than just me in a way, in another way I end up just not finishing things because a new version of say react comes out or I find a new library I should be learning. Or an API doesn't work how I might need etc.

Always provide padding, you never know when an issue might arise and take the project a little longer, try to break it down into smaller pieces. If you manage to do things quicker than your estimate everyone is happy, you're over delivering and not missing the deadline or under delivering.

Plus if your looking to do IOS react native thats a bonus too..

Mac, because it just works...You can tell I am a bit of a Apple fan. I used to be on windows and development just always seemed hard..now i'm on mac things just work, no hours of config and searching google for fixes.

I am quite interested in this, how easy would it be for someone to get started with this? Do you just get your wordpress instance up, us the api's and then host your frontend and talk to it? Sorry if I am being a bit of a noob, Haven't done much wordpress stuff for a few years now and mainly do reactjs apps
