I started programming when I was 11. Microsoft Basic on a TRS-80 computer.
Moved on to learn Pacal, C, C++, Cobol, SQL, PHP, Powershell, Python.
Been coding for 40 years and loving it.
I am available for virtual coffee, answering questions about SQL Server, LED displays and Raspberry Pi computers.
Socket.IO is extremely fast, I have used it to update a wall display hundreds of miles away from the computer generating the graphics. I remember in the 90's being able to chat with people using modems. Each character you typed was transmitted and displayed on the other person's screen. You could see how fast they type, watch as they corrected mistakes, etc. I would love to see if Socket.IO could be fast enough to accomplish this. In fact, I might just give it a try.
"This gives them the ability to do things differently and makes them better problem solvers." In my experience the differences in the way women and men think is what makes women better managers than men. There is far less inter-team conflict when women are in charge, and they seem to be able to juggle multiple projects far better than a typical male manager. I disagree with the problem solver part though. I say individuals vary in their problem solving abilities. It isn't dependent on their gender. This is of course my own experience in Canadian IT. Other cultures and countries could be completely different.
