i think this is comment is not fair, angular 4 is the same as angular 2, and there were no angular 3, because they wanted to line up the versions of all the angular components they use. also they had it on their schedule, so its not a surprise, and angular 4 are focusing in optimizations and tooling, but the apis stay the same as 2. i don't mean to switch to angular, just wanted to point out how things are going so you can compare fairly.
