I can understand your idea about different aspects of the story, and more or less I agree with you, but the issue I want o insist on is the speed of changes that are happening. The issue about AI is, yes it is a tool, but it also applies to most of the people who are working, not just people who are doing more physical jobs, but now even software developers like me are tools that managers are using to solve different problems, General AI with no doubt will change the future, but the fact is even more specific ( narrow ) AI can do a lot of things and it means that we are not far from singularity ( if not reached yet ) and it means we need to prepare ourselves very fast for a new world
