Great post, though I still recommend PHP to new developers as the availability is a much higher. Many web hosts don't offer support for Node.Js, so PHP is still better exposed, at least in this country (Germany). So if you want to earn money with contract work, you'd better learn PHP. Even WordPress needs PHP and many websites run with it.
Nice post! Finally something positive to read about WordPress again. Funny I find that I also basically use the plugins that you suggested. The reasons you mentioned in your post hit the nail on the head. WordPress is also great for people who like to tinker with their website themselves because WordPress simplifies so much in that regard. Otherwise, the links to the plugins you recommended all point to the same page. Have a great weekend!
Here in Germany it is unfortunately the case that many web space providers only support PHP and then almost everyone here also uses WordPress. I would so much like to deal more with other things, unfortunately that is not wanted here. Too bad actually. But I'm glad that PHP performs relatively well! Thanks for your test!
A good post, even though you didn't mention Visual Studio Code at all. The editor is becoming more and more popular and runs flawlessly. Can also be greatly extended and is recognized by all FTP programs without any problems. So certainly worth a look. Atom has always made problems or was too slow. At least I have always perceived it that way. Therefore not so wrong that you changed to Sublime Text or decided for it. The fact that you didn't mention Visual Studio Code at least motivated me to comment here. So I guess it wasn't so wrong that you didn't mention it :D
