Geez what happens with you people. First re search before talk. VS Code is not based on .Net. It uses Javascript/Electron/Typescript and thats why is multi-platform. It does not infect you with .net.

That happens with almost all modern IDE's and Text editors. The only ones I know still does not do this are emacs and vim (Atom maybe not?).

Geez read carefully the description Visual studio IDE and Visual Studio Code are different. Visual Studio Code is just a text editor as sublime and Atom. Actually VS Code is very similar to Atom because use Electron. but It is faster in execution.

I voted express but Koa v2 or hapi are good options too.
