Love reading your story. I was in a similar situation when my bootcamp friends finished the course and found a job during the pandemic while I quit the bootcamp and delayed my learning for months due to personal reasons. Now I'm back to coding, and luckily found a side project which helps improve my finance.

I added Pi to my Xmas wishlist to; unfortunately, haven't got it yet. I will deffo refer to your post when I try to run it as a server. Now I'm still learning frontend.
