I'd argue against it. I like the invite to answer; 9/10 times I do know how to answer or can at least provide insight into where to go. Nor do I consider it spam; I'm sure there is logic behind the feature and who to invite isn't just randomly selected people.

At least I don't understand the logic, because the questions are no relevance to me. But I'm not arguing to remove the feature just that it's possible to opt-out.

Precisely, thats why you have a profile description, make it accurate and when you are invited to answer, you will know you can actually provide an answer.

I'm not sure who you say exactly to, but unfortunately I think people don't read them :-) Anyway I guess I'm invited to many topics because I'm in the node, but that doesn't mean I know everything about that node.
