This weekend, I and 6,430 other people ran the BAA Half Marathon in Boston. I started running six or seven years ago when I was 250lbs, the 40" waist on my jeans was getting tight, and I lost my breath going upstairs to bed. Now, I'm wearing smaller jeans than when I was in high school. Running is literally saving my life. And, my son loves going out in our jogging stroller and seeing the world.
I do open source on the side. Mostly fun little node.js projects like statetable.com and catalogopolis.xyz.
Now that my kid is older, I have a little more time for my vintage computer collection again. It's mostly 8-bits from the 1980s, although there's a Mac Plus and some 90s Macs in there too. Last week, I started working on a 9" green screen Apple //c monitor. Someone must have dropped it long ago. It works great, but the case is cracked in a couple places and someone fixed it with white glue. Plus, it's yellowed over the years like lots of plastic from those days. I'm repairing the broken parts with PlastiWeld and painting them as close to the original color as possible. The rest of the case (and the Apple //c's case) is going to get Retr0brighted in the Spring so it looks as good as new.
