I live about 45 minutes from Seattle. I used to work in downtown, but for the past few years, I work from home. Seattle is a hot area for developers. There's plenty of user groups and meetups. Just do a search for Seattle user groups and meetups. I'm sure you'll find something that can help. Something like this, perhaps:

meetup.com/topics/softwaredev/us/wa/seattle

Thanks so much for the link! Unfortunately, I live in the rather faraway land of Wisconsin currently, so getting out there to do meetups will be difficult until I'm actually in the area. Though I was hoping to network previous to that so I might have an easier time finding a career there. :)

Ah! You might want to try going on LinkedIn and joining a few Seattle groups, such as Seattle JS Hackers, or Seattle Website Design and Development. Worth a shot, anyway.
