I'm planning on moving to a new city soon (Seattle to be specific) and I'm looking for some advice on expanding my network in that area. The problem isI live in the Midwest currently. Any ideas?

I live about 45 minutes from Seattle. I used to work in downtown, but for the past few years, I work from home. Seattle is a hot area for developers. There's plenty of user groups and meetups. Just do a search for Seattle user groups and meetups. I'm sure you'll find something that can help. Something like this, perhaps:

Seattle is a fairly large city so you should have no trouble finding people to connect with, or finding blogs/threads/facebook groups :).
