It's great. I'd put this as a poll.
You do sometimes have to be more specific and if im doing an image or maps search I use google.
I initially jumped on that wagon when the whole Snowden privacy thing dropped, but then I found it rather useless for programming results, so I figured privacy isn't as important if I have to waste more time finding answers and went back to Google.
I use it.
The shortcuts are nice, want to search StackOverflow, add !so to the end of your search query, !w for Wikipedia, for Google search, !g, etc.
Otherwise, not being tracked is a plus.
If i don't get what I'm looking for, i just repeat the search with !g at the end of it to see if Google has better results.
Most of the good sites are missing from the results. No comparison to google.
I find DuckDuckGo very annoying in terms of result presentation and result quality. May I I’m a google user for a too long time.

I don't use it much for programming results but when I have, it seemed to work fairly well. But, there's no comparison to a company that's tracking everything everyone does... Come on now... It's going to be very, very difficult for any search engine to outdo Google when Google has access to more data because of its user-agreements, policies, and now the fact that It owns Android and so many services which it can analyze. It's up to use to use Google when we don't care about privacy and DuckDuckGo when we do.
