What @JanVladimirMostert said. From there you might run a pilot with a small project to convince them even more that the new technology is better/more useful/safer/more efficient than what you're using now. :)

@Robert your response reminded me of a time that one of my company's developers showed our managers how Parse was a much faster option for development, they really went with it and got stuck with a monthly bill and a bunch of day/minute/second limits because they didn't go deeper in their research about it.

@isaacj of course most people think about GIT the same way you do, but remember to really search for the tool's pros and cons before you suggest it.

@Lucasbento Haha, that's so true. Research on the new technology should come first: will it work for us, will the costs outweigh the benefits, etc. etc. Not just use it because company X uses it too ;)
