I'am just curios. I have been watching for MERN stack a while and notice that it is evolving very slow; rare commits. Is it normal or temporary pace of development? Is something going to be changed with it?
It's definitely not stuck. It's just that the development pace has been slow over last couple of weeks. This is because our team is small right now and we spent a lot of time improving Hashnode over last 2 months. That's the reason we couldn't push more commits into mern-starter and couldn't actively participate in the discussions. But this is temporary. As a team and company we are growing and we'll definitely invest more time into MERN in upcoming days.
Also, it's worth mentioning that we upgraded the MERN CLI to 2.0 earlier this month. Now it has generators using which you can easily scaffold components, routes, controllers etc. There are also some more exciting CLI stuff that we are working on. mern-starter project is fairy simple and we don't want to make it complex by adding a bunch of stuff that are not necessary. In the coming days you will see more work and progress on the CLI. We want to make mern-cli more powerful so that it's easier for you to setup a MERN project and work on it. We'll also spend more time preparing more starter projects so that there are varieties of seed apps that can be scaffolded by the CLI.
So, the bottomline is : Yes, the development pace is slow now, but it's going to change very soon. It's not stuck and will keep receiving updates and support from us.
