In my opinion, as Facebook itself uses react native in their apps I don't think they will stop updates and moreover React native is heavily run by the community. There are some recent important changes happening in React native. React native Fabric (There are changing the way whole UI layer is architectured). Things like webview are maintained in a different repos, In order to make the whole source lean.
