What is a good email template designer?

I need to design some emails, but unfortunately the support of CSS in various popular clients seems to be completely outdated.

Therefor I hope some of you know a program or service that allow me to design the email (WYSIWYG) so I don't have to study the limits and spend too much time on it.

They also need to be responsive in that sense on a mobile they should seem a little different, but that's it about responsive I guess.

Foundation for email allows you to do pretty cool stuff

I was a "template engineer" for emails as one of my first Jobs the problem is the range of clients that's why still to this day tables are the most stable solution that are displayed everywhere correctly.

Outlook to my knowledge uses the word rendering engine for HTML, I will leave out lotus notes where everything below ~ 2px will be displayed as 16px (y ? ask IBM) ....

So basically I would say .... f*ck it use a table layout and it will be stable enough .... just make the design a classic scroll-able thing and don't use CSS3 if it should look every where the same, if they don't care about consistency just don't use HTML5

I've done it only for 2 years and maybe my knowledge is outdated but I know that we got a lot of money just to make them look everywhere the same.

Do you know if media queries will work?

nope, not everywhere, it's like writing for ie6 but you can't use Polyfill :) some of them stripe js that's why email tracking is still done by the classic "tracking pixel".

Responsive will break gg Emails are not built for this that's why they are still tables + images.

We even wrote our own inbox and delivery tool "delivery watch" and I've implemented an Inbox system where you could test-send your email and see on which clients it break .... But emarsys in the end is a more sophisticated mailchimp so we had a need for higher precision esp with ebay and other big companies

Usually clients don't get the range feedback for clients.

I can recommend Stripo . First it's free, second it's not only email template builder, it's all-in-one email design platform.

I used this btw for quick mockups if anyone needs that: beefree.io/editor But it's limited.
