I don't know what the next trend will be, I don't have the data. All the articles I read about AI, Data Science and Blockchain seam to be to some degree bias.

So what are the big trends for this year?

I don't have the data to collect to really predict or have an opinion .... It would be my bias that talks.

Personally I would love to see more AR trending, maybe in combination with a simple AI.

I would hardly call Java 9 a software trend :-) Maybe Docker!

M I agree. But they do gg, on the other hand I would not call AI a trend, since we mainly use 1 type of AI (a to b supervised). But the reactive programming really pushed some companies to update their java versions for functional streaming patterns.

Idk, as I mentioned to me it's hard to say anything without the data, besides what I personally wish for or heard of. :) gg you can catch me after 2-3 beer and probably I'll be bold enough to pull some predictions out of my ass :D
