What is 100M traffic?

100.000.000 queries per second? Not many come close to that.

100Mb database? Any database can handle that, only amateur hosts makes a database able to less.

Updated the question : I meant 100M queries/sec. Any good company which is scaling up will reach this number easily.

I think the answers depends on the kind of queries

@larry_love No, only the likes of Facebook get within an order of magnitude of that number of queries.

Yeah. I have been running a forum, that wasn't even always too good written, with 50.000 active users every day. We were about some thousands queries per seconds at peaks.

Btw on boot we copied the SQL data files into the RAM to speed it up, but that was mainly because it was before SSDs.
