That said given how every two bit snake oil peddler, hocking dimestore hoodoo, five and ten voodoo to mouth-breathing halfwits, are preying on the fears and ignorance of the public at large with everything from shoving jade eggs up steamed clams to "give the rich more money, we'll make jobs we promise" -- the bullshit artist probably has good odds.
"Data Science" has always struck me as the same type of hucksterism as people who "specialize" in SEO whilst not knowing the first damned thing about HTML. EVERY single description of what they do, how they do it, and what the term even means REEKS of market-speak double-talk buzzwords that should make any intelligent person cringe in horror.
Seriously, go read ANYTHING on the topic, just google the first 20 results. It's like playing "bullshit bingo". Even worse, they've been spewing their BS for so long they've started to believe it themselves.
