What do you think PHP is written in? What do you think blink is written in? What do you think Ruby or Perl or any of these other languages are written in? What do you think mysql, mariadb, postgresql, and most every other SQL is written in? What do you think OS are written in?
But sure, tell me again how you "can't even build anything" with them.
JavaScript is STILL not a compiled language, that makes it slow... as fast as node.js is, a well written C++ program WILL run CIRCLES around it. When you need that extra speed... when you need better control over memory allocation... when you need to talk to assembly language routines and directly to the hardware... You're NOT going to be using JavaScript! You'd be better off with Pascal at that huffing point!
Sometimes instant gratification is overrated; in fact the "I want it now, who cares how badly it screws me long term" attitude that's taking over is a significant part of what's WRONG with modern development. Take a sloppy bloated slow language, slop together a bunch of packages through NPM or ignorant dumbass frameworks where you don't even know enough of the underlying languages to even have an informed opinion of if those systems are actually any good! Then everyone pats each-other on the back over how "modern" the result is, then go running to help forums unable to fix even the most basic of problems because you didn't take the time to learn how any of it really works!
NOT a recipe for success. Decent recipe for quick cash-grab by scam artists though.
There's a reason 99%+ of the CRAP that people bring to me as a accessibility consultant I have to tell the clients to throw out completely and start over. Some know-nothing providing "instant gratification" saddled up the client and took them for a ride.
