How is it different than asking a question and inviting someone to answer? It might even make someone hesitant to join that discuss because it doesn't feel inclusive and just a direct messaging between two people.
Another thing I see that since it is now public as to who asked whom a question, the person who has been asked the question is kind of accountable to answer (as theirs is the only answer which matters in that context), and doesn't account for the fact that whether they would want to answer or not.
UPDATE: I just realized it doesn't show up on the feed until it has been answered. Is that right? Will it be shown in your profile to others as unanswered?

Hey Sidhant,
Thanks for the question. We launched DQs to solve two problems:
We have plans to integrate Direct Questions tightly with Hashnode. We are rolling out several interesting updates to DQs in the coming few days. Also, I would like to point out that DQs have the potential to serve as the foundation for future AMAs where anyone can go live and host personal AMAs without our involvement.
We would love to hear your feedback and suggestions. If you think we can make it better in any way, feel free to let me know. Thanks again. :)
