Am I a Writer?

You are right, writing is so much more than just creating content. With writing, you speak to people, try to reach them and make them think about things they maybe didn't think about, and provide value to them. I did work in journalism for many years and had to realize that those values have become rare even with professionals. That's why I think independent bloggers are so important. You are an amazing writer! I am really happy I met you!
