Thank you for taking the time to do this.

Question

How much Vanilla JavaScript basics should learn or be comfortable with before I move on to React?

I know most of the basics in Vanilla JavaScript and I have built some projects with it only without frameworks, but I have been hesitant to start using React since I hear a lot of "you should know the basics first" but to what extent or degree?

Which takes back me back to my question 👆

I'd say none. Instead, I'd learn JavaScript and React in parallel. While learning React, you'll run into situations where you have to learn / understand parts of the JavaScript language, from there you can go back and forth learning as you need to.

Being able to build something of substance is important while learning, and using a framework like React (or I'd recommend Next.js), you can kill two birds with one stone!
