Any new language, including Julia, face the problem that they have a smaller community, fewer packages or libraries. That is obviously a disadvantage.
SQL is a great tool when you are handling relational databases to extract useful information from the data. For most business decisions that we make at a quantitative level, SQL does a good job with joins and aggregate functions.
