Great article, but let me comment on this:

DOM is basically the representation of the HTML code in a webpage.

This is of course true. But what makes me write this is that you say nothing about things like:

• how DOM is structured; DOM consists of tags organized in collections (for reference, see this article)
• when NOT to use DOM,
• the constraints DOM usage enforces on webdev
