Congrats on your first post! You make some great points about the willingness to learn. I've seen a lot of people ask "how long will it take me to know enough to do this job?" and it can be hard for them to accept that it's the kind of job you're ALWAYS learning!

Thank you! This is also very useful and well-written. For me, I was always confused as to whether 'writing/running a server' meant I had to keep my own computer on 24/7, but the existence of virtual machines seemed to be the missing piece for me.
