What are your goals with the portfolio? For me I found it to be the perfect candidate to try some new cool frameworks. Most recently i rebuilt my whole portfolio in Gridsome which was an awesome experience! I have rebuilt my portfolio from scratch so many times, I just find it very fun, each time trying out some new technology or something! If your goal is to give increase be seen more by recruiters, there are some pointers that i've learned. What recruiters like to see in a portolio is: Keep it clean and simple Have your projects at the start so it's easy to find Have your social links in a accessible place

Do you have any tips on how to get started on contributing to open source? I feel intimidated when i look for ways to contribute on frameworks for example, I simply don't know where to start.

Both have their pros and cons, however I believe that it's mostly a matter of taste, if you prefer Javascript or PHP.

I would do something like Elon Musk did with SpaceX but for coders, and create awesome applications and projects. Would for sure still code at least some!

Keep them separated, create your backend as an API and make your frontend use it to fetch data and stuff. You need to provide more information and details about your project and how you will use it in order for me to give you any tips for going with SSR or not. But, I would say, with todays tools it is really simple to go with SSR and there are basically no downsides going with it imo.
