If Node.js and PHP were two professional wrestlers, who would win the game given the following game rules?

Rules of the game :

Developer productivity has priority
Community and support should be good
Cutting edge
Ability to handle scale

Already demonstrated past successes with big companies

There is going to be blood for sure. But who, according to you, wins? A detailed explanation would be great (meanwhile I will grab a pack of popcorn).

Not to be bias on the subjejct, but I'll go with PHP. Here is an article I wrote that compares PHP to Node.js

It is easy to get started with PHP.
PHP has one of the most vibrant communities available today.
Define cutting edge. If performance and reliability counts, PHP is definitely cutting edge.
For scale and success, just remember Facebook use PHP.

In regards to your last point, it is not a valid argument. Not because a company uses X language, X language is the best option. If you give two persons the same pencil, I am sure one of them will make a better drawing than the other one, same applies for programming.And on a side note, Facebook built HHVM which reads php and compiles down to machine code and gets interpreted way faster on request.

@AlexKvazos I did not say PHP is the best option because Facebook uses it. What I wrote translates into "Facebook with such a large user base runs on PHP". This obviously bodes well for the language scalability and success. While on the topic of scalability, HHVM is an example.

Totally agree with @kayandrae. Php would come out on top for all the reasons he'd mentioned.
