Stay away from coding during weekends makes me eager to start again the week after.
I start my weekend on Friday night - usually I go out with friends to a bar or a night club. On Saturdays and Sundays I do whatever I feel like doing:
and almost every weekend I work on my side projects. It's like my hobby and I get used to it for a long time now. Some weekends I code for 1 hour, some weekends I get 10-12 hours streaks, it's different every time. I don't give myself deadlines, roadmaps or schedules - I start coding and see where it gets me. This means that when I feel exhausted, unmotivated or onerous I can stop whenever I want!
My rule is - do whatever and whenever you want to feel inspired and fuelled through the whole week!
If theres pressing work to be done on my startup - that happens first.
If weather permits - the beach
About once a year, I'll take on a remodeling project around the house - this year it'll be a complete gut and remodel of the bathroom so that'll consume a few weekends.
If friends are available we'll make brick oven pizza. Built this a few years ago
All else fails - binge watch a TV series, little xBox 360 maybe, find a bar with a patio in the summer or just sleep all day
So many things, including:
I do actually code as well. Working on personal projects when I have the time. :)
For me, it's stay at home, watch TV series and spend time on Hashnode.
