I am just really curious about programming and what it is all about.
I am 29 years old, I come from Idaho, USA, and spent about 10 years in the California wilderness working in the green rush. I now live in Germany and I am trying to land a job in programming. I LOVE learning German, music production, painting, working with 3D and 2D design.
I would love to make some programmer friends, so please feel free to drop me a line.
discussion, news, work, whatever :)
YES! This is a problem I have been thinking about ! It is great that so much work can be distributed internationally but it opens up very interesting competition. Just on Upwork I have found hundreds of people who are looking for workers but have an average payout of $4.34 or something like that .... It is an interesting problem.
AWESOME Milica, Thank you for your response!! I checked out your link and watched a few of the videos there and I suppose my mind was already made up 😅. I too think that remote work is the future. Do you know of a more comprehensive list of companies that offer remote work ? I need to start applying :)
Hey I am on a similar path my friend. I guess one of the things that have helped me greatly is stopping by and knocking out challenges at codesignal.com or codewars.com. They have lots of things ranging from easy to hard and it is super fun. Also, I have found that Udemy courses seem to be pretty worth their price in this area ... maybe check it out. I am making the same move as you so you are not alone :) Keep me posted.
woooooah buddy ..... Ok so I "KINDA" get what you are talking about. you are talking about constructing one big block that gets swapped out all at once and contains my picture, text, and button changes ( as far as I can understand )? It sounds awesome .... and I imagine a simple quiz program is far from complex code these days, however at the moment to create that with HTML,CSS, and JS still is somewhere over my head in the ether... I appreciate you getting me closer but I am just a bit too green my friend.
